i received an e-mail today from spagat, the group that is responsible for the skatepark in wiener neudorf. the skatepark is closed now, because ramps need to be repaired.

*Der Skatepark Wiener Neudorf bleibt bis auf Widerruf geschlossen!*

Der Grund dafür liegt im schlechten Zustand der Rampen und einer daraus folgenden baubehördlichen Sperre. Wir hoffen auf eine baldige Subvention, sodass die Rampen repariert werden können und eine TÜV Abnahme gesichert werden kann.

Damit die Größenordnung des Problems klar wird: unter € 15.000,- werden wir nicht weit springen können.

Wir bitten euch, den Skatepark solange nicht zu benutzen! Nicht nur, dass er grundsätzlich noch geschlossen ist und ihr euch bei jeder Benützung durch Einbruch strafbar macht -- die Chance des Vereins, eine notwendige Subvention zu erhalten, sinkt mit jeder Beschwerde, die an die Gemeinde gerichtet wird. Indem ihr die Wut der Gemeinde auf den Verein zieht, sorgt ihr dafür, dass der Skatepark bald Geschichte ist. Und ganz offen: Skatepark und Verein sind nicht gerade die Lieblinge der Gemeinde.

Am Montag, den *06.04.2009* hat Berni (Obmann von SPAGAT) einen Termin beim Wr. Neudorfer Bürgermeister. Hoffen wir auf gute Neuigkeiten!!

the combination of top riders (gretchen bleiler, jamie anderson, lisa filzmoser, torah bright and so on and so on...) and professional filmmakers seems to work out well.
after seeing the teaser, i think that it would be really cool to be able to watch the film in a cinema to fully enjoy the pictures and sound. so if the movie is coming to a theatre near you, check it out there! i guess i will have to stick to my dvd player and cheap surround sound system at home ;)


be prepared for a "cinematic expression of snowboarding" - the film will be released in fall 2009.
