Hiking up and shredding down

Back in November it already started to snow here in Germany. But since the lifts weren't running yet we decided to hike up the mountain with our boards straped to the backpack.
Initially, we wanted to use the gondola at the Nebelhorn, Oberstdorf and hike around there. The tourists we're kinda looking strange as we walked up to the station with all the snowboard gear. But we bought the season pass and it wasn't working at that time. So we had to go to a mountain that was high enough for it to be covered with snow but low enough to hike up in a few hours. We agreed to go to Grasgehren resort.
So we drove up the pass and got to the mountain and there were already a few snowboarder around. They had built a kicker and took a few shots with their camera. We put on the snow shoes and started hiking. It was alot of fun. We had to stop a few times to look at the beutiful view around us.
As we got higher the more mountains we could see. In summer I started hiking and was able to name a few of them! I was proud ;)

But finfally we got to the top! Yipe! It was really cold and windy up there. After a small snack we straped the snow shoes to the backpack and the snowboard under our feet. It felt good after the long summer. The snow wasn't really powder anymore but it was so much fun riding again. I felt kinda sad cause it took us 2 1/2 hours to hike up and after 20 minutes shredding it was all done. But even though it was a great day and definitely worth it!
